The Young Ones - I designed this board with a view to it being my first 'very-own' board. Little did I know the part it would take in the future.
After getting the board signed by stars Nigel Planer and Christopher Ryan, it styaed in its box for quite a while. I even thought of selling it in favour of some more urgent home-improvements. Thankfully, I didn't.
When comedian Rik Mayall passed away in 2015, I was heartbroken. I grew up watching Rik in The Young Ones, Filthy, Rich and Catflap, the New Statesman and Bottom - to name a few. The outpouring of grief for Rik seemed to be everywhere. One Facebook fan page suggested a charity auction in aid of Headway UK, a charity supported by Rik. I donated the board to the auction, and it went on to raise just over £400 by itself, in an auction that raised over £2,000 overall. It couldn't have gone to a better home and cause.
