Growing up in the 1980s, The Trap Door is a fondly-remembered staple of TV-fed childhood. The rough-but-perfect Claymation, the soft tones and funny voices of narrator Willie Rushton...this was a delight to make - and to enlist the help of one of my friends to make the characters from Fimo!
A commission from the dear son of a very dear, and much-missed, friend.
Narrator: "Somewhere in the dark and nasty regions, where nobody goes, stands an ancient castle. Deep within this dank and uninviting place lives Berk..."
Berk: "Hello!"
Narrator: "...overworked servant to the Thing Upstairs."
The Thing Upstairs: [roars] "Berk, Feed me!"
Narrator: "But that's nothing compared to the horrors that lurk beneath the Trap Door. For there is always something down there, in the dark, waiting to come out."
